Making waffles in our home is a very special treat! We do not eat waffles as often as we do pancakes so when we do, we relish every moment. We mix the batter, put out the waffle iron and heat it up, wipe the plates down with cooking oil, pour the batter on the iron grill, and bring the top down and cook until the waffle is golden brown. We ensure the waffle peels off well and place the waffle on a plate for buttering. We cook our waffles on demand and on the dinning table because we love it best when its hot or warm. So whoever is making them eats last and the quickest eater eats the most waffles! Here's our simple recipe for the fluffiest waffles you could ever make.
2 cups of All-Purpose flour 1 tablespoon of baking powder 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar 1/4 teaspoon of salt 2 eggs (beaten) 1 teaspoon of vanilla (but you can add another 1/2 teaspoon if you want a stronger vanilla taste!) 1-3/4 cups of milk 2 knobs of butter Directions 1) In a big bowl, combine all the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, sugar and salt) 2) Create a well in the center of your dry ingredients and add wet ingredients 3) Mix until fully combined 4) Cook in waffle iron (according to instructions given by the manufacturer; all waffle irons are a bit different!) 5) Enjoy!
